What should I put in it?
Thicker spreads work best: peanut butter (xylitol-free), Greek yogurt, pumpkin, wet food. Thin liquids like broth are great after 30 minutes in the freezer. Every dog has a favourite, so experiment.
Will my dog actually use it?
Most take to it in the first session. If yours sniffs and walks away, rub a little wet food into the top and try again. Shy lickers usually come around by round two.
We just adopted a rescue. Will this help them settle?
Licking is naturally soothing, and it gives a nervous dog something simple to do with all that new-home energy. It won't rewrite a rough past, and it doesn't need to. Go slow, keep routines steady, and let the Bowl be one of them.
Does it slow down eating?
For wet food and treats, yes, the ball slows things down. Full kibble meals are a different job, and a slow-feeder bowl does that better.
Is it safe? Can I leave my dog alone with it?
