Our Story
Zeus is a Yorkie crossed with a Mini Schnauzer, about fifteen pounds of opinion and feeling. He flew into a snowy Canadian winter knowing almost nothing about us, and it showed. He paced when we left the room. He shook through thunderstorms. Bath time was a full-body wrestling match. Nail trims were worse. Any time we so much as picked up the keys, his whole body went tight.
We tried the usual list. Calming chews. White noise. A thunder shirt that lived on him for most of his first month. Some things helped a little. Most didn't. The real shift came when a trainer friend told us to spread peanut butter on a lick mat and stick it to the side of the tub.
Bath time stopped being a fight. Then we tried it for nail trims, then for the long evenings he had to spend alone while we worked, then for the fireworks weekend that used to wreck him. Slow, repetitive licking gave Zeus something to focus on. His body softened. The household felt quieter. We could feel him learning that the scary parts of the day had a calm answer waiting.
The only catch was the gear. Every lick mat we owned was loud plastic, garish blue or pink, the kind of thing you hid before guests came over. We couldn't find one that was well-made, looked at home on our counter, and used materials we felt good about putting his food on.
So we made one. Food-grade silicone, warm natural colours, deep ridges that hold a proper portion, and a suction base that actually grips a tub wall. We built it the way we wished someone had built it for Zeus from day one.
That is the whole company. Calm, well-made things for dogs who feel a lot, and for the people who love them through it. Tested on one very particular little rescue, and shipped out by the two of us.
